Can Binance founder Changpeng Zhao return to the United Arab Emirates?

Attorneys for former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao are asking a federal judge to permit the founder of the cryptocurrency trading platform to return to his home in the United Arab Emirates before he is sentenced in the U.S. after pleading guilty to money laundering earlier this week.

What happened to Binance & Zhao?

Late last year, Binance pleaded guilty to US anti-money-laundering and sanctions violations, incurring $4.3 billion in penalties as well as having to agree to oversight from authorities. Zhao also pleaded guilty to failing to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program and stepped down as CEO.
